Sharing the Stage

This young woman (left) was apparently famous. I don't have any crowd shots, but a half hour before she appeared all of the seats were filled with middle-aged men, each carrying $5,000 to 10,000 worth of camera gear. When she came on stage they all gawked and stared at her, and took picture after picture, but not one of them of them ever smiled. It was quite odd.

I was off to the side, behind the action, and when she looked my way, I just smiled at her. She responded to me with a smile -- the kind of smile that makes one famous -- It was the only time she smiled while onstage.

I snuck this picture when she wasn't looking.
