After the Demos

They like us, they really like us!

I was warned that the crowds at Macworld Japan were not like US crowds. I was told not to expect much in the way of response. Prior to my first demo, I walked around the show floor and noted that the response to most demos was quite muted.

That's not quite how it worked out for us...

I started each demo by throwing t-shirts into the crowd, picking the person I wanted the shirt to go to, then staring them in the eyes until we made contact. Then I threw the shirt to them. Of the 20 or so shirts, only one was ever intercepted. I got that receiver on my second pass.

The response to the demo was loud, and very enthusiastic. Very Un-Japanese trade show, or so I was told. (I felt like a rock star!)
