T-Chan

Insulation

Attic Insulation

Here's what my attic looks like - that's now about 16" of insulation, with a raised catwalk to the back (it's for me, not the cats). I added raised docks for storage of holiday decorations and the like. The docks are 2x4 frames situated over structural walls to keep the load off any spans.

The extra layer of insulation was a great investment - the house stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Next project? A vent that moves warm attic air down into the crawlspace on cool days.
